Following our successful collaboration in 2014, the Constructed Wetland Association’s 12th annual conference ran alongside the European Wastewater Management Conference enabling participants of both conferences to explore wider issues and developments in the field of pollution control as well as their core interests.
This year the Constructed Wetland Association focused on the science and practice of measuring and understanding the benefits of wetland systems, including removal of a wide range of contaminants from wastewater, from treating diffuse pollution sources, and from making natural ecosystems more effective at processing waterborne contaminants. The conference fulfilled its aim to attract a good mix of practitioners, academics, regulators and technology users and participants ejoyed an interesting and informative programme of presentations and site visits to Salford Wetlands and Wigan Flashes Wetland Restoration.
